Universities Affiliated to University of Education Winneba

The Trans Africa University College in Accra has now become affiliated to the University of Education, Winneba (UEW).

This follows the signing of a memorandum of understanding(MOU) between the university college and UEW.

The Vice Chancellor of UEW, Professor Kwasi Asabere-Ameyaw and the Registrar, Mr C.Y. Akwaa-Mensah while the Chairman of the TAUC Council, Prof. Kwabena Mante Bosompem and the Director of TAUC, Dr Samuel Segbefia, signed for the university college.

Prof. Asabere-Ameyaw commended the board for meeting all the requirements for the affiliation.

The signing of the MOU, he said, brought to seven the number of institutions affiliated to the university.

“The signing of the agreement is the beginning of good things to come,” he said, adding that the affiliation was not only to award degrees but to go beyond that.

The Vice Chancellor said there was the need to train the youth adequately so that they could become relevant to the society and that the desire of the university was to improve the quality of the youth to take over.

“Let us support the youth to acquire the skills to be on their own to develop the nation. We would like to assure you of our support to produce quality youth,” he said.

Prof. Mante Bosompem said the development of the youth was key to the programmes and objectives of the university college.

He said although the university college was based in Ghana, it had a vision for Africa; having campuses in the various countries and beyond.

He said what the university college stood for was the development of the youth and positioning the country and its people for sustainability.

Prof. Mante Bosompem said the partnership with UEW was the greatest important mile-stone in the history of Trans African University College.
